Motorcar Flood Claim Guide
Follow these critical steps when your vehicle is damaged by flooding

CRITICAL: Do NOT Start the Engine
Starting a flooded engine causes irreversible damage and leads to claim denial
Immediate Safety
- ⚠️ DO NOT start the engine — claim denial risk
- • Wait for water to subside, beware of hazards
- • Disconnect battery to prevent short circuits
- • Tow vehicle to accredited shop or safe location
Document Everything
- • Photos & videos from all angles (inside & out)
- • Record the waterline on the vehicle
- • Keep all receipts (towing, emergency repairs)
- • Get Barangay/Police/LGU flood certification
Report to Insurer
- • Contact insurer immediately (7–30 day window)
- • Get claim reference number & handler name
- • Verify "Acts of God/Nature" (AON) coverage
- ⚠️ Standard comprehensive may NOT cover floods
